About the Author :
This is the very first novel of Adi, who grew up reading fiction books late at nights. He give more credit for his successes in life to these late-night reading habits. Deeply impressed by the vast religious history of India, he picked up this topic for his very first novel.

My Review :

May be you do not get much excited with the Book Cover... I'm sure you won't regret picking this book, after you will finish reading it. Engaging.... the only word i can say to that... We heard a lot about Vampires... read many books about them.... but have you heard any Indian version of it.... if not... then u will surely get surprised with a mystical thriller of the season... However, since it is an Indian Version first... it is a tantra based story first then vampires second... and this thing really adds up to the reading experience of the whole book.

The main character is Anu, leather wearing, no-nonsense professional guardian with a reputation of hunting vampires, who just lost a lover in New York and moves to India to find the vampire who killed him. But here in India, she finds that things are not as she thought. She came to know that there is something much greater threats to city than the vampires. And then you will find all the paranormal activities, references to the "astras" we are familier to from mahabharat or ramayana, and this brave strong female character, Anu. Readers will get familier with these mystical events, with a good use of words like 'brahmastras', 'sattvic', or 'tantric' .
There is another character called 'Senaka' (the evil tantric) against whose tantric forces, Anu will fight... Another character Dr. Sharma, guiding Anu about the ancient weapons and the Sage Pandit Grover who will give an important lesson to the main character. The battle of Sattvic and Tantric forces is an interesting thing in the book and the readers will surely love reading this. The concept of supernatural forces and power beyond imagination and then the comparison of the evil and good forces is something the book is all about. This book leads as a paranormal thriller giving that peculiar and extraordinary Indian penchant for juxtaposing good and evil and even seeing parallels between the two.

This book is an interesting one to read. Though, first few chapters are not so catchy, but as you go through it, you will find the story catching up the pace. and that will surely stick you up with the book till the last. Definitely a page turner for the later half of the book. The characterization of Anu is greatly done, although I thought others characters can also get some more footage than they were given in the whole plot. The storyline is in a smooth flow, though you will find some elaborating parts getting boring. The story had some loose ends, as I said other characters in the story are not getting enough space in the book and the editing part disappoints at time. However, the efforts put by the writer, Adi for his first novel are really appreciable.

Overall, a good read and recommended for it being a totally different version from the traditional Vampires stories and the touch of Indian origin and the Supernatural forces is what commendable.
